Discover the secrets of Colombia's famous coffee on a farm outside Bogotá. Take in the fresh mountain air and taste the soft notes of the coffee that grows here.
We live in a country of misty mountains, valleys, very rich soil, and hardworking people. All that together creates the perfect conditions for growing coffee. This has been a major development driver and a reason for pride for every Colombian. As a result, we are one of the main coffee producers and we grow the best arabica coffee worldwide.
In this coffee tour experience, you will travel an hour and a half south of Bogotá going down the mountains to a town called Fusagasuga, located at approximately 1760 MASL. You will enter Hacienda Coloma, a colonial coffee farm very similar in architecture and traditions found in the coffee region.
Here, you will walk through the orchid gardens and see native plants, with a very high chance of seeing hummingbirds as you enter the heart of a dense coffee crop. There you will understand the way in which fruit trees contribute to the coffee´s aroma. You can collect coffee beans with our own hands, see both traditional, and industrial processes and witness roasting on site. Coloma produces a variety of export quality coffee liqueurs in smoked whiskey barrels as well as their own roasted coffee brand. Once you finish the tour around the farm and warehouse, you will have the chance to taste freshly brewed coffee and a nip of the liqueur which is the result of the whole process you have experienced.
Once you finish, you will have a break and eat a great typical lunch before returning to Bogotá.
Please advise in advance for vegetarian meal request.
